A recall order covering around 2.50 lakh units of its car models was recently issued by Honda in the US. Following this, SUV and Pickup model units in the firm's lineup such as the Pilot, the Ridgeline, and the Odyssey produced between 2015 and 2020 might be impacted. According to the carmaker, the engine's crankshaft, which connects to the piston through a connecting rod, may have had a manufacturing flaw that gave rise to wear and tear. The Japanese auto giant claims that it will look into this possible issue that could seriously harm the engine in the event of an accident. Although Honda believes the flaw will affect less than 1 per cent of recalled vehicles, it says it is taking no chances given the possible consequences of a failure like this, which can be caused by faulty equipment settings during manufacture.

Owners of these models are therefore also being encouraged to pay particular attention to and exercise extra caution when they notice things like engine noises, stalling, diminished power, and the engine light turning on on the driver display unit. Honda will begin contacting the owners of all potentially impacted vehicles on January 2; even Acura models are being closely monitored.
In other news, Honda has unveiled the made-in-India Elevate SUV as the WR-V in Japan. It is likely to go on sale in the first half of next year. Here's everything you need to know about the new WR-V.
Honda WR-V: Colour Options and Dimensions
The Honda WR-V measures 1,790mm in width, 1,650mm in height, and 4,312mm in length. Its wheelbase stands at 2,650 mm, and the ground clearance is 220mm. The Japanese version can be had in five monotone hues and is available in three variants: X, Z, and Z+.
Honda WR-V: Mechanical Specifications and Design Cues
The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine powers the 2024 Honda WR-V, which is housed on the same Global Small Car platform as the Elevate. It will only be coupled to a CVT gearbox. A peak torque output of 145Nm and 119bhp of maximum power are delivered by this mill. Interestingly, the Elevate also has a six-speed manual transmission available in our market.
On the design front, the recently unveiled Winsome Runabout Vehicle, or WR-V for short, has a large grille with the Honda logo in the middle, narrow LED headlamps with LED daytime running lights, and fog lamps. The Japan-spec WR-V has diamond-cut R17 alloy wheels and squared-off wheel arches with thick plastic covering. Further, the rear end features a slightly sloped window and the same wraparound taillamps as the WR-V built in Indonesia.

Honda WR-V: Interior Layout and Features
The interior of the car sports an all-black theme. In contrast to the deep brown leatherette upholstery on the India-spec vehicle, the WR-V will be offered with black upholstery. Additionally, the leather dashboard inlays are absent from the Japanese version. Coming to the feature suite, the new WR-V lacks wireless charging and an electrically movable sunroof. The SUV will, however, include a separate infotainment display, cruise control, automated climate control, lane watch camera, steering-mounted controls, rear air conditioning vents, and a reverse parking camera with sensors.
