New Honda Amaze: Key Highlights
Despite being on the market for over five years, the current Amaze received minor mid-life modifications in 2021. It is now ready for its big update, which will be released later this year. Although details are scarce at the moment, market reports suggest that the new Amaze will feature an exterior design comparable to Honda sedans, the international-spec Accord, and the new City. The updated Amaze is expected to incorporate certain new design elements that will bring it in sync with the growing competition. Upon its launch, the sedan will renew its rivalry with the Hyundai Aura, the Tata Tigor, and the Maruti Suzuki Dzire.
The third-generation model will retain the 1.2-litre petrol engine under its bonnet. This unit produces 110Nm and 88.7bhp, with a CVT or a 5-speed manual transmission. In terms of pricing, the revised sedan could cost more than the current version, which retails between Rs 7.93 lakh and Rs 9.86 lakh in India (both ex-showroom).

The current Amaze boasts numerous features, such as cruise control, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, paddle shifters (only available with CVT variants), seat belt reminders for all seats, a rearview camera, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and ISOFIX child seat anchors. There is currently no word on whether this equipment will be retained or new technology will be deployed in the upcoming third-gen iteration.
