Honda Cars India will reportedly raise the prices of the Amaze in the country. Beginning on April 1, 2023, the compact sedan is expected to see a price increase of up to Rs 12,000 as a result of growing production costs and the upcoming implementation of BS6 Phase 2 rules. Depending on the version, the price increase varies. Last month, the carmaker reported dispensing 6,086 units, compared to the 7,187 units in February 2022 in the domestic market, representing a 15% decline. In a recent development, the company introduced the 2023 Honda City, which meets all emission regulations and has undergone modest cosmetic and functional changes, with a starting price of Rs 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The City petrol now boasts ADAS, which includes lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and autonomous emergency braking on higher-spec models. Up until recently, the City Hybrid was the sole vehicle with ADAS. Coming to the Amaze, let's know more in detail about it.

The carmaker will upgrade the Amaze's 1.2-litre petrol engine to comply with BS6 Phase 2 or RDE standards. The engine produces 89bhp and 110Nm and is coupled with a five-speed manual transmission and a CVT unit. Reportedly, the Honda WR-V, Jazz, and City 4th-gen will be dropped from the manufacturer's lineup to meet BS6 Phase 2 standards. As a result, the firm will only have two vehicles in its India range: the Amaze and the City. According to reports, the carmaker discontinued the Amaze's diesel models in January of this year.
