Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India disclosed its sales figures for the previous month and FY23. The firm reported selling a total of 2,11,978 units in March 2023, compared to the 3,23,434 units in the same month the previous year, witnessing a decrease of 34.5% in overall sales. Honda 2W's domestic sales were 3,09,550 units in March 2022. However, the company managed to sell 1,97,512 units only in the last month. On the export front, the company, however, performed better. It shipped 14,466 units in March 2023, compared to the 13,884 units in the same month last year. The firm ended the fiscal year 2022–23 (April 2022–March 2023) on a high note. It reported a total sales of 43,50,943 units in 2022–23, a 14% increase over 2021–22. It comprises domestic sales of 4,025,486 units as well as international shipments of 325,457 units.
Honda 2W EV Roadmap
In a recent development, the Honda 2W EV roadmap for the country. The roadmap comprises Factory E, Platform E, and Workshop E. Honda plans to open an EV production plant in Narsapura, Karnataka, and make 1 million electric vehicles annually by 2030 under the Factory E strategy. Advanced automation, as well as 100% renewable energy, will be used in the production method. Additionally, they will feature an increased level of localization, including domestically acquired batteries and the PCUS. Aside from this, the company will design and manufacture the electric motor locally.

Under the dedicated Platform E, the automaker will offer Honda Mobile Power Pack e-powered electric two-wheelers with permanent and swappable batteries. The Workshop E initiative, on the other hand, will give EV buyers from Honda a satisfying ownership experience. It entails supplying EV charging infrastructure, battery charging stations, and charging connections to the 6,000 touch points in the company's existing dealership network. The company is expected to offer battery choices to customers in India, thanks to contact points located at petrol stations, tube stations, and other public places across the country.
Honda’s FY’22-23: A Few Key Highlights
The automaker introduced a range of updated and new models in India. Recently, the Honda SP125 made a comeback in the market in an updated version. The new model features an updated powertrain with OBD II technology. Prices are Rs 85,131 for the drum brake with alloy wheels and Rs 89,131 for the front disc brake with alloys. All prices are ex-showroom.
The 2023 Honda Activa 125 was also launched at a price, ranging between Rs 78,920 to Rs 88,093 ( Both prices, ex-showroom, New Delhi). It features minor modifications, including a change to the colour scheme. Further, it has a new H-Smart model.

Honda introduced the first 100cc bike in the country. The all-new Honda Shine 100 has a starting price of Rs 64,900 (ex-showroom, Maharashtra). According to reports, the automaker will start production of the bike this month, and it will be available in Honda dealerships by May 2023.
