Meanwhile, exports saw a sharp increase of 82.27 per cent to 31,022 units, as opposed to 17,020 units shipped overseas in the same month in 2022. In the calendar year 2023, the company sold a total of 43.85 lakh units. On the other hand, within the same time frame, Hero MotoCorp, its primary competitor, and market leader, sold 54.99 lakh units. Honda's Plans for 2024
For Honda, the year 2024 holds greater significance as the business prepares to penetrate the electric mobility market. The firm already indicated that it intends to get into the market and will launch an electric motorcycle and scooter later this year. The top scooter maker in India will plunge into electric vehicles (EVs) with the launch of a "mid-range" model that runs on a fixed battery pack and is dependent on an existing charging network. The business aims to introduce a second scooter with a swappable battery system after this. Based on Honda's recently developed 'Platform E,' the two scooters will be constructed using a specific electric vehicle architecture intended for manufacturing fixed and battery-swappable two-wheelers.
