Following the departure of Vikram Pahwa, Harley Davidson has now appointed a new managing director for the Indian market.
Peter MacKenzie has now assumed the new role as the head for the brand in India, in addition to maintaining his current role as managing director for Greater China. MacKenzie will continue to be based out of Shanghai, China, while Manish Agarwal, Country Manager, Harley-Davidson India will manage day-to-day operations.
MacKenzie joined Harley-Davidson back in 2010 and brought along nearly 25 years of business development experience from the automotive industry. Mackenzie’s appointment will allow him to manage Harley-Davison India’s sales, dealer network management, marketing, service, and operations activities towards the path of expansion of the company’s presence in the country.
“India is a strategic market for us in line with our company strategy to build the next generation of Harley-Davidson riders globally. I am confident that MacKenzie will provide strong leadership to the team to grow the reach and impact of our brand, as we expand our dealership network in the country to support our business and give loyal and new customers greater access to our brand,” said Marc McAllister, vice president and managing director, International Markets.
