Fortuner, Innova, Rumion and More Help Toyota Record 13% YoY Sales Growth in February

Toyota Kirloskar Motor achieved an impressive 13 per cent year-on-year (YoY) sales growth in February 2025, driven by strong demand for popular models like the Fortuner, Innova Hycross, Innova Crysta, and Rumion. The automaker's consistent performance highlights its growing dominance in India's SUV and MPV segments. Toyota’s diverse lineup, including the Hyryder and Hilux, also contributed to the surge in sales. Toyota's growth is driven by rising demand for reliable and well-equipped vehicles, supported by its dealership network and supply chain efficiency. With steady demand and ongoing expansion, the company is reinforcing its position in the Indian market. Going forward, the brand plans to focus on innovation, hybrid technology, and broadening its product lineup.
Toyota India Sales Figures: February 2025
Toyota has released its sales report for this month, showing a total of 28,414 units sold, including domestic and export markets. This represents a 13 per cent increase over the 25,220 units sold in February last year. Domestic sales reached 26,414 units, reflecting a 13.36 per cent rise from 23,300 units last year, while exports grew 4.17 per cent to 2,000 units, up from 1,920 units in the previous February. The automaker credited this growth to strong demand for its utility vehicles (UVs), with models such as the Hilux, Innova Hycross, Legender, Innova Crysta, Fortuner, and the Rumion, contributing 68 per cent of total sales, whereas the Glanza and the Urban Cruiser Taisor accounted for 28 per cent.

Between April last year and February this year, Toyota’s cumulative sales rose 30 per cent to 3.06 lakh units, compared to over 2.36 lakh units in the same period the year before. Sharing his thoughts on the company's sales performance, Varinder Wadhwa, Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business - TKM, said, 'We thank our customers for their unwavering confidence in the Toyota brand. MPVs and SUVs continue to be the primary growth drivers, contributing 68 per cent to overall sales. The strong demand for models such as the Innova Crysta, Innova Hycross, Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Hilux, Fortuner, Legender, and Rumion reflects the growing preference for reliable and quality products. In response to the market needs, we have recently reopened bookings for the Land Cruiser 300. Additionally, we introduced the new GR-S grade under the GR Sport branding, featuring an off-road-tuned suspension, differential locks, and enhanced shock absorbers to ensure superior performance in extreme conditions. The market response has been positive, and we are humbled by the enthusiasm.'

The company has been actively expanding its portfolio, introducing the ninth-gen Camry sedan in December and recently opening bookings for the LC 300. At the recent edition of the Bharat Mobility Show, the brand unveiled the Urban Cruiser EV concept, signalling its entry into India’s electric vehicle segment. This upcoming model is essentially a rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, which is expected to debut later this month.
