The most acknowledged Ducati Engineer and former GM of Ducati Corse, Filippo Preziosi, has announced his resignation from his position at Ducati Motor Holding. Preziosi was responsible for the development of the Desmosedici MotoGP machine that was successful throughout the Casey Stoner era and he was also in charge during the Valentino Rossi period.
Preziosi has declared personal health reasons and a poor physical condition to go on and his resignation was accepted by Ducati, however the Italian bike maker is saddened and disappointed to lose such an accomplished and strategic member of their staff. The 45 year old Prezioso has had a phenomenal 19 year history with Ducati, 12 of which were within Ducati Corse.
Previously he was the General Manager of Ducati Corse, but was appointed Director of Research and Development of Ducati Motor Holding at the end of 2012 and was about to start his new role after a period of rest.
Ducati will make an announcement of the successor to this strategic role sometime in the near future.
