Honda Cars India (HCIL) has released its February sales figures. Last month, the Japanese automaker posted domestic sales of 7,142 units, representing a 17% year-over-year increase from the 6,086 units delivered in February 2023. The potential factors to the sales success were the rising market, the popularity of Honda's hallmark models, and successful marketing campaigns, according to industry reports. Honda states that its models—the Elevate and the City, in particular—added to the accomplishment. Furthermore, HCIL announced a significant jump in exports over the previous month, with total deliveries hitting 5,936 units—a remarkable 510% rise over the 936 units exported in February 2023. The overall sales for February 2024, after accounting for both domestic and foreign shipments, reached 13,078 units. This represented a staggering 85.27% rise over the last year.

Sharing his thoughts on the sales, Mr. Yuichi Murata, Director, of Marketing & Sales, at Honda Cars India Ltd., said, ''Our performance in February has been as per our plan. The Honda Elevate maintains its strong performance, further strengthening its presence in the market. The Honda City and Amaze also continue to perform well in their respective segments. In addition, our export performance has also been robust.”

In India, the price of a mid-size Honda ranges from Rs 11.58 lakh to Rs 16.48 lakh (ex-showroom). It has seven exterior monotone paint options in addition to four distinct models (SV, V, VX, and ZX).

Under the bonnet, the SUV gets a 1.5-litre iVTEC petrol engine that produces 119bhp and 145Nm. It can use either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed CVT transmission. While the six-speed manual gearbox is standard on all four models, the seven-speed CVT is only available on the V, VX, and ZX versions.
