Everyone in the autoX team enjoys a trip to Dubai, no wonder we have been there twice for our anniversary. Indeed there are car lovers there, more especially those who can spend exorbitant amounts to buy a supercar. But you don’t think of the police owning one, do you?
The Dubai law enforcement has added two new members to their fleet of cars – the Lamborghini Aventador and the Ferrari FF. We know that the residents there have a deep appreciation for all things extravagant but now so does the police. Lt. Gen Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Dubai’s Chief of Police, welcomed these additions to the fleet.
The Aventador is powered by a 6.5-litre V12 producing 690bhp, while the FF, is slightly less powerful, with its 6.3-litre V12 producing 651bhp, but more practical because of the two rear seats.
We’ve played ‘Hot Pursuit’ on our computers and have sat in cop-styled supercars chasing the lunatic drivers- virtually. But the Dubai police will now do it in a more literal sense. So, who’s up for a job in the Dubai Police Department? Given a chance, I wouldn’t think twice.
