In light of the ongoing Coronavirus lockdown in the country, Maruti Suzuki, TVS, and Yamaha have announced that they will extend the service period and warranty plans on their products until June 2020.
In an official statement, Maruti Suzuki, the country’s largest carmaker, announced a series of steps for the extension of warranty and service for customer vehicles. The company said that it’ll extend free service, warranty, and extended warranty for customer vehicles, which are scheduled to end between March 15 and April 30, 2020, to June 30, 2020.
Similarly, TVS will offer free service of vehicles, which were otherwise due in March and April 2020, until June 2020. On vehicles whose warranty period expires between March 1 and April 30, 2020, TVS will continue to offer warranty until June 30, 2020. The company also said that AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) services due between March and April 2020 will be redeemable until the end of June 2020. In addition to this, TVS’ toll-free customer service number will continue to address customer queries between 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM during the entire lockdown period. Road Side Assistance services will also be available 24/7, says TVS. However, this will greatly depend on whether or not it’s legally possible in some areas.
Yamaha Motor India has made a similar announcement. The company has extended free service, warranty, and extended warranty on their products by 60 days for customer's vehicles. The benefits of this extension will be applicable to those vehicles whose free service, warranty and extended warranty were due to expire between March 15 and April 15, 2020.
