Continental Automotive Systems India Ltd. announced that its business unit Fuel Supply has started delivery of  its locally produced in-tank fuel pump for the compact car segment from its Pune facility.

The facility which was inaugurated in June 2012, has already delivered the first batch of fuel pumps and this localization program is being expanded to both petrol and diesel gerotor pumps.

The localized pump is mainly targeted for the compact entry level passenger car segment but the company has plans for the two wheeler market as well. For this project Continental has invested a sum of approximately 2 million.

While the facility in Pune has product lines for fuel rail assemblies and fuel pumps, Continental also has a test and validation lab in Bangalore.
