The road transport ministry has been asked by the centre to properly implement and recommend revisions in the Road Transport and Safety Bill.

We all have been, from the time we remember, cribbing about poor implementation of traffic rules in India. The situation has become so grave that we all have started considering it as a part and parcel of our lives to see people breaking traffic rules every now and then.

To tackle this gravest of the grave situations on Indian roads, Prime Minister of India has asked the road transport ministry to chalk out a proper road map for proper implementation of the existing rules and reframing them where needed. Another proposal is to reconsider the revised fines for traffic violations for practical implementations and curb the corruption. This also makes us believe that the existing fines will be revised under this new proposition. Another such issue is to keep a check on the tractors on highways that prove to be very risky.

The present government had announced replacing the present Central Motor Vehicle Act with a new one that will redefine the job responsibilities between various divisions that would make it more difficult for the officials to ask for money in order to let something unauthorised to happen. This also means that getting a license is going to be tough now on, as the officials now believe in letting everyone get behind the wheel without checking if someone deserves it or not.
