Maruti Suzuki, India’s leading automobile manufacturer, recorded a 10% year-on-year (YoY) sales growth in November 2024, driven by strong demand for models like the Brezza, Ertiga, and Grand Vitara. The company’s compact SUVs and MPVs continue to perform well in their respective segments, contributing significantly to the overall growth. Strategic updates to its product lineup and competitive pricing have helped Maruti Suzuki maintain its position in an increasingly competitive market. This sales momentum highlights its ability to align with market trends and solidify its leadership in the automotive sector as overall industry demand continues to recover.

Maruti Suzuki Sales: November 2024
Maruti Suzuki India reported a strong performance in November 2024, with total sales rising by 10% YoY to over 1.81 lakh units, compared to about 1.64 lakh units in November last year. Domestic passenger vehicle sales grew by 5%, reaching more than 1.41 lakh units, up from around 1.34 lakh units in the same month last year. However, sales in the mini car segment, which includes models like the Alto and S-Presso, saw a slight dip, falling to 9,750 units from 9,959 units. Similarly, compact cars, including the Baleno, Swift, and WagonR, saw sales decline to 61,373 units from 64,679 units sold in November 2023.
On the other hand, utility vehicles (UVs) such as the Brezza, Ertiga, and Grand Vitara performed strongly, with sales surging to 59,003 units compared to 49,016 units a year ago. The Eeco van also showed improved results, selling 10,589 units versus 10,226 units last November. Meanwhile, the Super Carry light commercial vehicle (LCV) recorded 2,926 units sold, up from 2,509 units previously. Lastly, export figures also saw a significant boost, with 28,633 units shipped in November 2024, up from 22,950 units in the same period last year.
Dzire Sedan Gets Revamped
The carmaker's most recent release is the next-generation Dzire sedan, introduced with a starting price of Rs 6.79 lakh (ex-showroom). Its revamped look features angular headlights with horizontal DRLs, a wider grille with multiple slats, redesigned alloy wheels, and a more defined shoulder line. Other enhancements include redesigned fog lamp enclosures, a shark fin antenna, a boot lid spoiler, and distinctive Y-shaped LED taillights connected by a prominent chrome strip. Despite these changes, the car retains its overall dimensions, thanks to its continued use of the Heartect platform.
Powering the new Dzire is a 1.2-litre Z Series naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine, delivering 80bhp of maximum power and 112Nm of peak torque available with a five-speed manual or AMT transmission. Select variants also offer a CNG option that produces 68bhp and 102Nm of torque.

Inside, the sedan shares its dashboard layout with the Swift but adorns a refined black-and-beige colour scheme complemented by faux wood accents. The 2024 model introduces significant upgrades, including a nine-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, wireless phone charging, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. Additional conveniences include rear AC vents, Type-C charging ports, and segment-leading features such as a 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and an electric sunroof.
