Nonetheless, the company's sales increased by just a single digit in the first month of the current fiscal year. With both domestic and overseas markets combined, the manufacturer's total passenger vehicle sales for last month stood at over 1.60 lakh units. Maruti Suzuki Swift India Launch on May 9

Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch the fourth-gen Swift hatchback in India on May 9. The 1.2-litre three-cylinder Z Series petrol engine, which powers the Japan-spec Swift, will be available for the India-spec model as well. Expect the power and torque figures to be similar to those of the existing K Series 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol unit. The K12 mill develops 89bhp of maximum power and 113Nm of peak torque. As for the transmission, we expect the upcoming vehicle to offer both manual and automatic units, although the company has yet to make it official.

With its updated grille, revamped bumper, sharper LED headlamps, and red exterior, the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Swift has an evolutionary appearance. We anticipate the all-new hatchback to have new alloy wheels, side door handles, and revised LED tail lamps at the back.
