Brezza, Alto, Fronx and More Help Maruti Suzuki Register 30% YoY Sales Growth in December 2024

Maruti Suzuki's domestic passenger vehicle sales grew by 24.18%, totalling about 1.30 lakh units last month, compared to approximately 1.05 lakh units in December 2023.

Maruti Suzuki recorded a 30% year-on-year sales growth in December 2024, fuelled by strong sales of models like the Brezza, Alto, Fronx, Invicto, Ertiga, Grand Vitara, and others. The company's focus on offering a range of vehicles that cater to different customer needs has helped drive this growth. The Brezza continues to perform well in the compact SUV segment, while the Alto remains a popular choice in the entry-level category. The Fronx has also contributed to the increase in sales with its modern design. This growth reflects Maruti Suzuki's strong position in the Indian market, as it continues to meet the evolving demands of consumers across various segments.

Maruti Suzuki Sales Figures: December 2024

Maruti Suzuki India posted a 30% increase in total wholesales, reaching over 1.78 lakh units in December 2024, compared to around 1.38 lakh units in the same month the previous year. Domestic sales, which include light commercial vehicles (LCVs) and deliveries to Toyota Kirloskar Motor, saw a 24.44% rise, amounting to more than 1.32 lakh units in December, up from roughly 1.06 lakh units in December 2023. Sales of domestic passenger vehicles (PVs) grew by 24.18%, totalling about 1.30 lakh units last month, compared to approximately 1.05 lakh units in December 2023.

Mini car sales, led by the Alto and S-Presso, surged to 7,418 units, while compact cars, including the Swift, WagonR, and Baleno reached 54,906 units. Utility vehicle sales (UVs), comprising the Fronx, Brezza, and Ertiga, grew to 55,651 units. However, the Ciaz sedan saw a slight decline in sales, dropping to 464 units from 489 units. Exports rose significantly, with 37,419 units shipped out in December 2024, up from 26,884 units a year back.

Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara to Debut This Month

Maruti Suzuki's debut electric compact SUV, the e Vitara, is set to be unveiled at the second Bharat Mobility Global Expo, taking place from January 17 to 22, 2025. Ahead of the reveal, the company released a teaser image showcasing the vehicle's front, which closely resembles the eVX concept that previewed the model.

The image reveals a tri-slash LED Daytime Running Lamp on both ends, with the 'Maruti Suzuki' logo in the center, a prominent hood, and an aggressive bumper design.

The global-spec model sports 18-inch alloy wheels, C-pillar-mounted door handles, and body cladding around the wheel arches. The rear includes a roof-mounted spoiler, shark-fin antenna, chunky bumper, and lightbar-style taillights. Expected to be built on a new skateboard platform developed with Toyota, the e Vitara offers two battery options overseas: a 49kWh battery with two-wheel drive and a 61kWh battery with either two-wheel or four-wheel drive. While technical details for the Indian market remain unclear, the e Vitara is anticipated to offer a range of up to 600 km.
