BMW Group India announced its sales data for the first half of 2023. From January to June of 2023, the company reported selling 5,867 automobiles (BMW and Mini), exhibiting a 5% rise from 5,570 units sold during the same period in the previous year. Most of these numbers came from BMW, which delivered 5,476 cars, marking a 5.5% increase compared to January to June of the previous year. Sales of Minis rose by 3% to 391 units. The company also claims that the second quarter of 2023, including the month of June, saw a rise in Mini sales. In the second quarter of 2023, 219 units of Mini were sold, out of which 92 units were shipped in June.
The firm also disclosed that by the end of June 2023, it had received 8,000 orders, of which 2,500 cars were still to be delivered. The firm announced a 50% jump in sales in the two-wheeler segment, with a total of 4,667 units. Nearly 90% of all sales for BMW Motorrad during this period came from the G3 10R, G310RR, and G310 GS. According to the corporation, SUVs accounted for 50% of all sales in the four-wheeler market. The new BMW X1, which accounts for 20% of sales, was the best-selling model in this category. The brand's best-selling sedan was the 3 Series Gran Limousine, accounting for nearly 20% of total sedan sales. The firm also disclosed that overall sales of its top-tier luxury products, such as the new 7 Series, i7, X7, and XM models, grew by 128% as compared to 2022.
BMW Electric Vehicles Sales
According to industry reports, BMW has made a significant contribution to the premium EV segment with a 50% share. The iX was the brand's best-selling EV, according to the automaker. The firm sold more units of this model in the first six months than all other luxury EVs combined. It further revealed that it sold 46% more EVs in the first half of 2023 than in 2022, exhibiting an 11% year-over-year growth in the sector.

Mini Sales
With more than 60% of units delivered, the Countryman continues to be the brand's best-selling car. Sales of the Mini hatchback accounted for 20% of total sales, while the Mini SE model, with a 14% market share, rose to third place.
