BMW India Posts 7% Rise in Q1 2025; EVs See Over 200% Growth Year-on-Year
After Audi, BMW has revealed its Q1 2025 sales, showing a notable 7% growth in the period. The company delivered 3,914 cars overall, including 3,764 BMWs and 150 Minis.

Following Audi's announcement, BMW has now revealed its sales figures for Q1 2025, reporting a solid 7% growth. The company delivered 3,914 cars overall, including 3,764 BMWs and 150 Minis. BMW Motorrad, the brand's premium two-wheeler division, added to the success with 1,373 units sold between January and March 2025. The electric vehicle segment continued to dominate, with 646 electric vehicles sold, reflecting an impressive 206% year-on-year growth. The launch of the BMW iX1 Long Wheelbase at Auto Expo 2025 generated tremendous interest, leading to over 1,500 bookings and making it the highest-selling BMW EV for the quarter.

Mr. Vikram Pawah, President and CEO, BMW Group India, said, ‘BMW Group India has set the tone for a successful year ahead, delivering record-breaking performance in the first quarter. BMW Group India clocked the highest-ever Q1 car deliveries till date with 3,914 units, also growing by +7%. Continuing our lead as the most preferred luxury EV brand, we have seen phenomenal growth of over 200% in our electric car sales. Similarly, BMW long-wheelbase models have captured the imagination of luxury connoisseurs across the board, growing by a remarkable +187%.’

Other Highlights
BMW India's long-wheelbase models (7, 5, 3 Series, iX1) saw high demand. The focus on comfort, luxury, and driving dynamics boosted their sales by 187%. The all-new 5 Series Long Wheelbase was the best-selling business sedan in Q1, and the 3 Series Long Wheelbase maintained its top position in its class. BMW India claims that its long-wheelbase models now account for 30% of their annual sales, up from 20%.

BMW's luxury flagship models accounted for almost one-fifth of their Q1 sales. The 7 Series remained the top ultra-luxury limo, and X7 demand surged in the high-end SAV segment. SAVs were the primary sales driver at 55% (2,079 units, +11%), with the X1 being the most popular SAV (over 30% share). The Cooper S was the best-selling model in Mini's lineup, while the G 310 RR and 900 GS/GSA were among the popular BMW motorcycles.
