BMW Group India retained its leading position in the luxury electric car market, according to the recent announcement of its yearly sales figures for all three of its brands: BMW, MINI, and BMW Motorrad. BMW cars recorded sales of 13,303 units in last year, representing a year-over-year (YoY) growth of 18 per cent. The flagship models, which included the 7 Series sedan, i7, X7, and iX, were mostly responsible for the enormous 88 per cent increase over the prior year. Sport utility vehicles (SUVs), called sport activity vehicles (SAVs) by BMW, accounted for 54 per cent of total sales, while sedans accounted for 46 per cent. The sales figures for all three brands reached their highest point in the fourth quarter of 2023. With 2,633 units sold, the BMW X1 was the company's best-selling SUV in 2023. The BMW X7 came in second with 1,513 units. In the sedan category, the 3 Series occupied the top spot with 2,702 units. In 2024, the manufacturer plans to introduce 19 new vehicles in the country, comprising 13 cars and 6 motorcycles, after a record-breaking year.
