BMW Group India Records Highest-ever Car Sales in First 6 Months of 2024

For the first time, BMW Group India sales have surpassed 7,000 units in the first half of the year. Let's look at the sales performance of the company during the H1 2024.

BMW Group India delivered a total of 7,098 cars in the first half of 2024 (January-June), marking an increase of 21% from 5,867 units sold in the same period last year. BMW alone registered sales of 6,734 vehicles and SUVs, a notable YoY increase of 23%. On the other hand, Mini contributed with 364 units. Further, the company's motorcycle division, BMW Motorrad, added to the year's half-yearly sales with 3,614 units. BMW India H1 2024 Sales: Best-selling Models

SUVs, which accounted for around 3,600 units, or 54% of the total, remained the primary contributor to India's BMW sales. Notably, the BMW X1 was the best-selling SUV, with a share of 19% in the sales. On the other hand, the BMW 3 Series was the most popular sedan, accounting for 17% of sales.

The BMW 7 Series, i7, X7, and XM saw a 17% increase in sales in the Luxury class segment, accounting for 18% of overall sales. Out of these models, the X7 was the top-selling Luxury Class BMW during the H1 2024. 

The company also saw strong demand for electric cars during the first half of the year. It sold 397 EVs from BMW and Mini. Interestingly, the BMW i7 was the best-selling BMW EV in this period. Additionally, BMW Group India's BEV line sold over 2,000 units, with the BMW iX accounting for half of the total.

BMW India Upcoming Launches 

BMW is set to launch the new Mini Cooper S, the Mini Countryman E, the CE 04 electric scooter, and the 5 Series Long Wheelbase in India on July 24, 2024.
