Finally, these are the top-ten machines of 2019! Here are the ‘Best of 2019’:
It's that time of the year again! We've been to the Buddh International Circuit, tested 50 of the newest machines that were introduced in the Indian market over this past year, and, finally, the top 10 – our Best of 2019 – have been officially crowned.
Our experienced team of road testers, over a three-day period, drove, rode & tested all these machines at India's only F1 racing circuit and scored each machine out of a total score of 100 for quality, practicality, drivetrain, design, value-for-money, ride-and-handling, and much more. The Best of 2019 title was up for grabs for just six four-wheelers and four two-wheelers.
After an extensive & adrenaline-fuelled testing session, the Porsche Macan, Hyundai Venue, Kia Seltos, BMW 330i, Hyundai Kona Electric & the Lamborghini Huracan Evo (Performance Car of the Year) emerged as the 'Best of 2019' in the four-wheeler category.
Meanwhile, in the two-wheeler segment, the Honda CB300R, Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, Triumph Scrambler 1200 & Indian FTR 1200 S (Performance Bike of the Year) emerged as the winners to round out the top-ten!
Here's a closer look:
Porsche Macan
The recently refreshed Macan not only continues to offer the quintessential Porsche driving experience, but it also offers better value than ever before. The Macan could well be the perfect everyday sports car for India, and this makes it one of our ‘Best of 2019.’
Hyundai Venue
The Hyundai Venue has been the talk of the town ever since it hit the market, for all the right reasons. From achieving ground-breaking sales figures (even amidst the ongoing auto industry slowdown) to punching above its weight in terms of performance, technology & comfort, the Venue emerged as a worthy contender to earn our 'Best of 2019' title.
With its distinctive design, excellent quality levels, high levels of equipment, terrific driving appeal & aggressive pricing, the Seltos couldn't have made a stronger debut for Kia Motors in India, which is why it deserves to be our 'Best of 2019.'
The new BMW 330i impressed us with its perfectly-balanced blend of performance, luxury & technology. In fact, there isn't a better daily driver out there than the new 330i.
Hyundai has become the first manufacturer in our awards history to feature two winning products in a single year. Bringing a world-class EV to the Indian market at a reasonable cost, without compromising on performance or build quality, has really put Hyundai at the forefront of the affordable EV game. The Kona Electric is, without a doubt, a pathbreaker.
With its fun-to-ride experience, dynamic abilities (both on the track & off it) and exceptional handling & stability, the Honda CB300R is a hoot to ride. Add to the mix its reasonable price and it’s no surprise that it finds a spot in our ‘Best of 2019.’
The Royal Enfield Interceptor won us over from the minute we laid eyes on it. From the way it looks to the way it rides, there's no doubt that folks at RE have put in their heart & soul into this bike.
Style & versatility; two key attributes of the Scrambler 1200 that make it one of our 'Best of 2019.'
The minute we got confirmation from Lamborghini that the Huracan Evo would be a part of our 'Best of 2019' jury meet, the Performance Car of the Year title was pretty much decided. Nonetheless, the Huracan Evo is undoubtedly one of the most exciting machines we’ve tested all year, and it comes as no surprise that it was, far & away, the fastest car in our ‘Best of 2019’ test.
The FTR 1200 S is Indian Motorcycle's first performance-oriented machine in India and it couldn't be a more entertaining ride. Unrivalled build quality, sorted ergonomics & blistering performance – all the elements that led to the FTR 1200 S becoming the fastest bike in our 'Best of 2019' test.
