Baleno, Brezza, Fronx, and More Help Maruti Suzuki Achieve Record Monthly Sales in October
Maruti Suzuki India announced its highest-ever monthly sales of 1.99 lakh units last month, representing a 19 per cent year-on-year increase. In October 2022, the country's leading automaker had dispatched 1.67 lakh units.
Maruti Suzuki has announced its monthly sales for October 2023. In the said month, the firm sold 199,217 units, marking the company's highest-ever monthly sales numbers. This figure incorporates both exports and domestic sales. The company sold 59,147 utility vehicles last month, nearly twice as many as it did in October last year (30,971 units). The Utility Vehicle lineup of Maruti Suzuki comprises models such as the Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, S-cross, and the XL6. Meanwhile, sales of compact cars also witnessed growth, with 80,662 sold in October 2023 compared to 73,685 delivered in the same month the previous year. This category includes the Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, Tour S, and the WagonR. However, sales of the Ciaz sedan decreased from 1,884 units sold in October 2022 to 695 units sold in the previous month.
Maruti Suzuki October Sales
Speaking of the automaker's mini-car segment, there was a YoY decline in sales with the company selling 14,568 units in October 2023 as opposed to 24,936 units delivered in October last year. Hatchbacks like the Alto as well as the S-Presso are part of this category. When compared to the previous year, Maruti Suzkuki's overall exports increased by around 7 per cent, from 20,448 to 21,951 units in October 2023. Moreover, the Japanese auto giant's year-to-date sales increased by 8.36 per cent as the manufacturer sold 96,456 more cars between April and October 2023 than it did in the same period the previous year.

Maruti Suzuki Crosses 10 Lakh Automatic Car Sales Milestone
To cater to a wide range of customers, the leading automaker currently offers four automatic transmission options across 16 models. These include the Auto Gear Shift (AGS), 4-speed Automatic Transmission (AT), Advanced 6-speed Automatic Transmission (AT) with steering-mounted paddle shifters, and Electronic-Continuous Variable Transmission (e-CVT). The AGS technology was initially introduced by the company in 2014, and it was warmly embraced by prospective purchasers. As of now, AGS technology is found in 65% of the company's automatic cars. While the Hybrid e-CVT transmission accounts for about 8 per cent of the manufacturer's automatic sales, automatic transmission (AT) models constitute 27 per cent of the overall automatic sales.

Models with Automatic Transmission
According to Maruti Suzuki, the main contributing regions for the sales of its automatic models were Delhi & NCR, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, and Kerela. A 5-speed AGS gearbox is available as an option for the Alto K-10, S-Presso, Celerio, WagonR, Ignis, Swift, Dzire, Baleno, and Fronx. There is also a 4-speed automatic transmission offered for the Jimny and the Ciaz. The following cars can be had with the Advanced 6-speed Automatic transmission with paddle shifters: the Fronx, Brezza, Ertiga, XL6, and Grand Vitara. The only vehicles with e-CVT technology are the Grand Vitara and the Invicto Intelligent Electric Hybrid.
