Bajaj Auto Limited announced its sales figures for June 2023. According to the firm, the sales of two-wheelers and commercial vehicles fell by 2% in domestic and export markets, from 3,47,004 units sold in June 2022 to 3,40,981 units delivered in June 2023. The company claimed that the fall in overall sales is largely led by reduced exports. In the previous month, the exports totaled 1,40,998 units, representing a YoY decline of 32%. Speaking of two-wheelers' performance, the firm experienced a fall in the past month. In June 2023, Bajaj Auto's YoY two-wheeler sales (domestic and exports) dropped by 7%. The company dispatched 2,93,649 units the last month, registering a decline from the 3,15,948 units sold in June 2022. However, on the domestic front, two-wheeler sales witnessed an increase. Bajaj reported that the number of 2W units sold the previous month in domestic markets grew by 33% YoY to 1,66,292 from 1,25,083 in June 2022, demonstrating favorable performance.

Bajaj Auto Sales June 2023: Key Highlights
Talking of the 2W sales, the automaker internationally dispatched 1,27,357 units in June 2023, compared to the 1,90,865 units delivered in the same month the last year, registering a fall of 33%. It resulted in a 7% decline in the segment's overall sales to 2,93,649 units in June 2023.
Similar to the 2W wheeler domestic sales performance, the commercial vehicles also witnessed a rise in the domestic segment. According to the firm, the local sales of the CV segment grew by 154%. Bajaj sold 33,691 units in the domestic market in June 2023, up from the 13,268 units dispatched at the same time a year ago.
Contrarily, from 17,788 units shipped in June 2022, exports dropped by 23% to 13,641 units in the last month. However, in total, commercial vehicles experienced positive sales, with 47,332 units sold in June 2023, an increase from 31,056 units sold in the same period the last year.

Bajaj Swing, Genie Names Trademarked in India
Bajaj Auto recently submitted trademark applications for the names Swing and Genie. There is no official confirmation, but industry reports claim that the speculated next two-wheelers from Bajaj will likely be electric and carry these names. The Chetak Electric is the sole electric scooter currently available in India from the Pune-based automaker. In our market, the Chetak was previously offered in Standard and Premium models but is now only offered in the Premium variant.
