Ather Energy, an electric two-wheeler manufacturer, announced sales numbers for April 2023. According to the EV maker, it sold 8,182 units this April, which is an increase of 117% over the 3,779 units it sold in the same month last year. On an MoM basis, the automaker reported a drop of 30.39%, with 11,754 units sold in March 2023. The fall in month-over-month sales, according to the company, was because of the FAME policy's uncertainty and its potential cascading effects. The automaker has disclosed that it is extending its retail base across the country to keep up with the consistent demand for its products. The automaker currently operates 120 retail stores in 87 cities and owns over 1300 Ather grid fast chargers. To shorten the wait times at the charging stations, the company announced a while ago that the charging cut-off for their Ather Grid public chargers will now be 80%. Once the 80% cut-off is reached, the Ather Grid charger will automatically unlock from the scooter. Recently, the automaker launched a new base variant of the Ather 450X in India. Let's quickly go through what it brings to the table for potential buyers.

The 3.7kWh battery pack, found with the ProPack version of the Ather 450X, is also available with the new variant. However, the new model has a shorter charging time than its more advanced sibling. While the battery on the base model takes 15 hours and 20 minutes to charge, the battery on the 450X ProPack only needs 5 hours and 40 minutes.
