Ather Energy Crosses 2 Lakh Unit Production Mark in India

Ather Energy's manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu claims to produce more than one lakh units annually. The automaker will soon introduce the Ather 450 Apex, a high-performance variant of the 450X electric scooter in India.

Bengaluru-based Ather Energy has recently achieved a production milestone of 2 lakh e-scooters in the country. Tarun Mehta, CEO of the company, announced the notable achievement on his social media account, X (formerly known as Twitter). The organization had already surpassed the one-lakh milestone earlier this year. For starters, Ather Energy's manufacturing plant is in Tamil Nadu and claims to produce over one lakh units annually. The company currently offers the 450 and 450S two-wheelers in India and ranks as the third-largest seller in the segment, after Ola Electric and TVS Motors. The 450 Apex, a high-performance variant of the 450X electric scooter, is anticipated to become part of the automaker's portfolio in India. The new e-scooter is available for booking at a nominal fee of Rs 2,500. While its exact specifications are currently unknown, the Ather two-wheeler will feature a new riding mode called Warp+, which can provide more power than the current Warp mode available in the 450X range.

Ather Energy November 2023 Sales

In November 2023, Ather Energy sold 9,344 units, representing a 22.5% growth year-on-year compared to the same period in the previous year. Compared to October 2023, when 10,056 units were sold, the company's MoM sales fell by about 7%.

Ather Energy and Hero MotoCorp Partners for EV Fast Charging Network in India

Ather Energy and Hero MotoCorp recently established a partnership to set up an interoperable fast-charging electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure in the country. The goal is to create a national network that the Vida and Ather grids can benefit from. The integrated system will consist of approximately 1,900 fast-charging stations spanning across more than 100 locations. The two automakers want to speed up the adoption of EVs by offering fast charging facilities. With this, the users of the "Ather App" and "My Vida" will be able to find and locate the charging stations.

They will also be able to select the ideal spots, find the closest charging station, ascertain whether it is open, and find their way there with the help of interoperability. Ather Energy claimed that by announcing this agreement, users will be able to access a nationwide network of charging stations, which will alleviate concerns about running out of battery power.
