Suzuki Motorcycle India attained its highest-ever domestic sales in October 2023, selling 84,302 units. Moreover, the firm shipped 16,205 vehicles to foreign markets. The two-wheeler manufacturer sold 1,00,507 units in total last month, registering a 14.4% YoY growth from the same period a year ago. With 97,936 units delivered, the manufacturer's overall sales in September this year rose by 13% in comparison to the same month in 2022. In that same period, SMIPL supplied 83,798 units domestically, which was a 16% increase over September of last year. Commenting on the sales performance, Devashish Handa, EVP – Sales, Marketing and After Sales, said, ‘This milestone and the sustained growth of Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. in October 2023 is a testament to the patronage of two-wheeler buyers for which we are extremely thankful. We remain committed to delivering exceptional services to our customers.’

Suzuki recently revealed the new V-Strom 800 DE at the Japan Mobility Show. After its showcasing at the Milan 2022 EICMA Motorcycle Show, the V-Strom 800 DE made its global debut in December of last year. As of now, the Japanese automaker has not released any information regarding the bike's arrival in our country. Market reports, however, suggest that the two-wheeler may make its way to India by the year's end, following its introduction to the global market. Let's look at more details of this bike.
Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE: Design and Mechanical Highlights
The bike features a vertically stacked LED headlight at the front, which adds to its distinct appearance, and a blackened translucent visor. Some of its design attractions include a wide handlebar with knuckle guards, a single-piece seat, pannier mounts, and a top box. The Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE has a new 776cc DOHC parallel twin engine, which produces 78Nm of peak torque at 6,800rpm and 82bhp at 8,500rpm. Furthermore, the engine has four valves per cylinder and a 270-degree crankshaft, which, according to the automaker, assists with traction and bottom-end torque during off-road activities.

Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE: India Launch and Competitors
Given that Suzuki has already started testing the V-Strom 800 DE in India, its launch is expected to happen before the year's end. The bike will compete with popular models such as the BMW F850 GS and Triumph Tiger 900 once it goes on sale in the Indian market.
