Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd., (SMIPL) has disclosed sales figures for the previous month. According to the firm, it sold a total of 88,731 units in April 2023, compared to 71,987 units at the same time last year, which gave it a boost of 23.3% in YoY sales. Domestically, the Japanese manufacturer’s Indian arm sold 67,259 units this April. However, last year in the same month, it only sold 54,327 units, which marks 23.8% domestic sales growth. As far as export goes, the company shipped 21,472 units abroad last month, as opposed to 17,660 units in April 2022, which led to a 21.59% increase in exports. According to the firm, the consistently booming sales are supported by its range of models, including the Access 125, the Gixxer series, and others.

April Sales 2023: What SMIPL Says?
Sharing his views on the sales performance, Mr. Kenichi Umeda, Managing Director, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. said, “Suzuki Motorcycle India continues to grow at a double-digit rate. We registered a significant year-on-year growth of 23.3% in April 2023. This consistent sales performance is the result of growing demand for Suzuki two-wheelers in India and in overseas markets.''
He further shared, ''Apart from the sales growth, April 2023 proved to be quite progressive for the company as we successfully achieved the 7 millionth production milestone since the origin of the company in 2006. This month, we also introduced new colours for our third-generation Hayabusa.”
SMIPL March Sales 2023
SMIPL announced a 49% increase in sales this March compared to the same month in 2022. In March 2023, it sold 73,069 units domestically and delivered 24,515 units internationally, whereas, in March 2022, it sold a total of 65,495 units. Also, compared to the fiscal year that ended on March 31, 2022, total sales for the entire 2022–23 fiscal year increased by 24.3% to 9,38,371 units from 754,938 units retailed in that fiscal year.

Suzuki Motorcycle India Surpassed 70 Lakh Sales Mark
In a recent development, Suzuki Motorcycle India also crossed the 70 lakh sales milestone. The V-Strom SX was the 7 millionth unit to roll out of the manufacturing line at the Kherki Dhaula plant in Gurugram, Haryana. For those unaware, the company began its operations in February 2006, and within just 17 years, it managed to develop and deliver 70 lakh units.
