Launched on September 24, Renault Kwid has already started sensationalising the Indian automobile segment by crossing 25,000 bookings.

It seems that Renault’s latest bet in the Indian automobile segment has started to pay already. The French carmaker has crossed the milestone of 25,000 bookings in just two weeks of the car’s launch, and it seems to upset the top two carmakers in India – Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai.

Commenting on the phenomenal performance of the car, Mr. Sumit Sawhney, Country CEO and Managing Director, Renault India Operations, said, “The Renault KWID has created a huge excitement since its launch and we are thrilled with the response it has received just at the on-set of the festive season. The Indian consumer has shown tremendous confidence and trust in Renault brand, the initial response has been very exhilarating and the bookings are constantly increasing.  We are witnessing remarkable footfalls in dealerships across all regions since the launch of Renault KWID.”

Now, the main question is to see if the success run of the Renault Kwid will continue and, if yes, for how long. No need to emphasise on the fact that this is the make-or-break car for Renault in India, as the only car from Renault’s stable which was able to make an impact was the Duster. The war-cry started on September 24 when Renault launched its Kwid with price starting from Rs. 2.56 lakhs. The icing on the cake was Renault’s claim of Kwid delivering a fuel efficiency of 25.17km/l.
