Cinema's fascination with futuristic cars in action and sci-fi genres has always garnered the attention of movie buffs as well as automotive enthusiasts. Remember the famous wonder car from the Taarzan movie that enthralled children and teenagers worldwide with its violet paint job, as well as sleek and futuristic design? Although the movie did not perform well at the box office, the violet-coloured beast is still fresh in memory. Hence, there is no denying that the fusion of cinema and automotive has produced some of the most iconic cars to cherish. The new 'Bujji' from the movie Kalki 2898 AD could be the most recent car to join this special list. In Kalki 2898 AD, Bujji is an AI-powered car that assists the protagonist (Prabhas) in numerous adventures. The one-of-a-kind vehicle, voiced by Keerthy Suresh, is 6,075mm in length, 3,380mm in width, and 2,186mm in height. It weighs a whopping 6,000 kg. Let's explore other specs of this new beast from the world of cinema.

Bujji: What's More?

The vehicle has been developed at Chennai's Mahindra Research Valley. It has two Mahindra electric motors, which together generate 9,800Nm of peak torque and 125bhp. The special car is equipped with a 47kWh battery pack at the rear and has a top speed of 45km/h. Visually, Bujji is an eye-catching marvel. It has a glass canopy in the cabin, reminiscent of fighter aircraft style. With its massive wheels, the futuristic car reminds us of the Batmobile from the Batman series. It is equipped with two hubless wheels up front and one at the back with CEAT tyres. The cockpit has a single seat for the driver, while the rear section comprises a prison cell for the goons captured by the hero.

Could Bujji Be the New Taarzan?

Taarzan Wonder Car

While there are countless films portraying cars performing stunts beyond the limits of a conventional car, Tarzan, the Wonder Car was the most dramatic but revengeful car ever introduced by Bollywood. The possessed car seeks revenge against its owner's (Ajay Devgan) murderers and becomes a real friend to the protagonist (Vatsal Sheth). Beyond the fictional plot, the cult car was based on the Toyota MR2 (1991 model). It featured a mid-engine arrangement and a rear-wheel drive. It had a stylish look with a low-slung supercar design.

Although the two custom cars from different movies are not identical, they are both products of the Indian film industry. While Taarzan already has a sizeable fan base and quickly became the object of desire for many in India, it will be interesting to see if the new Bujji be able to achieve the same level of popularity.
