We already know that the Wagoneer S will be the first model from Stellantis-owned Jeep solely powered by a battery and twin electric motors. The electric SUV will arrive in the United States as a 2024 model and, unlike other Wagoneers, it will come in a two-row configuration. While the automaker already shared the official images in January 2024, the Jeep Wagoneer S now has a global debut date. However, before the debut takes place on May 30, a nearly two-minute teaser video of the Wagoneer S is doing rounds on the internet, showing the Jeep EV going neck and neck in a duel with the Tesla Model Y Performance. The video shot at Willow Springs track in California reveals that the Wagoneer S is the quickest-accelerating production Jeep ever, requiring 3.4 seconds to hit 100km/h – 0.1 seconds quicker than the Model Y Performance.
Jeep Wagoneer S: Powertrain
Additionally, the video confirms the technical specifications revealed so far. The new Jeep Wagoneer S will draw power from a battery and a pair of electric motors. The specifications of the former are still unknown. However, we do know that the STLA-Large platform comes with battery sizes ranging from 85kWh to 118kWh. As a result, the Wagoneer S will make 592bhp (600hp) and 837Nm of peak torque, allowing the electric SUV to accelerate from a halt to 100km/h in about 3.4 seconds – 0.1 seconds quicker than earlier claims.
Jeep expects a range of over 483km for the Wagoneer S. That's way more than what Jeep targeted in 2022 when it showcased the Wagoneer S concept.

Jeep Wagoneer S: Platform
The Jeep Wagoneer S will be based on the all-new STLA-Large platform – a highly flexible, BEV-native platform designed for cars, crossovers, and SUVs – with a standard 4xe capability that enables all-terrain management. Although 'BEV-native', the platform can even accommodate a hybrid powertrain. It employs both 400V and 800V electric architectures, and is compatible with front-, rear-, and four-wheel-drive configurations.
Jeep Wagoneer S: Exterior, Interior
On the outside, Jeep has given the EV a boxy silhouette, an LED-lit seven-slot chrome grille, a full-width LED bar at the front and rear, trapezoidal wheel arches, and LED fog lamps and taillamps. Moving inside, the dashboard of the Jeep Wagoneer S is dominated by four screens: a central infotainment screen; a driver's display; a screen for climate control, massaging seat controls, and defrost settings; and a passenger entertainment screen. Notably, the SUV has no physical buttons, except the ones on the steering wheel for cruise control, media control, and navigation.
The rotary drive selector, along with the driving mode selector, is located on the centre console. Besides, there is a unique Selec-Terrain system with five driving modes – snow, sand, eco, sport and auto. Other bits include a 4xe terrain management system, ambient lighting, heated and cooled seats, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof as standard, a 19-speaker McIntosh audio system, a 360-degree camera, and lane keep assist.
