The new variants continue to be powered by the same 2.0-litre D4 turbo diesel engine.
As reported earlier, Volvo has expanded the recently launched XC40’s lineup in India with the introduction of two new variants - Momentum and Inscription. Volvo India has also received 200 orders for the XC40 within weeks from its launch.
The new base Momentum trim is priced at ₹39.90 lakh (ex-showroom). This is the same introductory price at which the R-Design trim was launched, but now its price has been increased to ₹42.90 lakh. The Inscription trim, priced at ₹43.90 lakh, will now be the new top-end variant of the XC40.
The variants of XC40 are well equipped - even the base Momentum gets panoramic sunroof, AWD, front radar, leather upholstery, 9-inch centre touchscreen, hill descent control, rear parking camera and much more.
The top-end Inscription model receives more features over the R-Design, such as different design of the front grille, six spoke diamond-cut alloy wheels, interior driftwood inlays, crystal gear knob and electrically foldable rear headrests.
Charles Frump, Managing Director, Volvo Car India said, “We are absolutely delighted to have received such a positive response for the newly launched XC40. It’s a great beginning for us and we expect it to contribute considerably in achieving 10 per cent segment share by 2020”.
Volvo Cars India recorded its best ever H1 with 33 per cent growth in volumes in Jan - June 2018 versus last year. The Swedish company claims that the new XC60, which was launched in December last year, contributed around 25 per cent of 1,242 units that Volvo sold during the aforementioned period.
