The Volvo V90 Cross Country has now been introduced with the latest generation Polestar Performance Optimisation with updates in five aspects of the car.
The Polestar Performance Optimisation package will be available with the Volvo V90 Cross Country powered by either the T6, D5 and D4 models and Volvo claims it is to provide a more dynamic driving experience.
The optimisation package includes performance updates to the cars power and drivetrain. Volvo has focused on the mid-range power and torque delivery of the engines, which is the area most often used in everyday driving. The gearbox has also been recalibrated and now shifts faster than that standard car, to support the added performance, and deliver a better experience to the driver.
”To include the V90 Cross Country, a true adventure crossover, in our optimisation programme is a vital part of our operation to further expand on Volvo Cars’ new SPA vehicle architecture. Our product provides performance-oriented customers with a new level of driving pleasure,” said Niels Möller, Chief Operating Officer of Polestar.
Thed Björk, Volvo S60 Polestar TC1 driver in the 2016 FIA World Touring Car Championship said; ”Our focus is as always on creating usable performance, just as when we develop our racing cars to win championships. This is made possible by treating the entire powertrain, including engine, gearbox, throttle response and more, as one unit when developing our optimisations.”
In addition to the introduction of the V90 Cross country with the Polestar optimisation, the XC90 SUV with the D4 engine has also now received the performance upgrade package.
