Volvo has embarked on an expansion plan that will see the luxury car maker launch three new models in the Indian market this year.

The first in line is the V40 hatchback that will be introduced during the second quarter of the year. With upgraded petrol and diesel variants in sub-30 lakh category, Volvo plans to take on rivals Mercedes-Benz, BMW and market leader Audi.

The S60 sedan will also get a makeover in Q2 before the flagship XC90 breaks cover during the third quarter of the year.

With these three new cars and six further showrooms, Volvo plans to increase their sales to 2000 units this year, as against 1200 units the previous year.
