Volvo has revealed the EX30 all-electric SUV for the international market. According to the Swedish carmaker, the exterior is balanced and refined thanks to a long wheelbase, huge wheels, and equal overhangs. The small SUV comes in five exterior paints, ranging from Cloud Blue to Moss Yellow, which Volvo says will add to its uniqueness. This all-new electric model has arrived in the international market with a price tag of around 36.000 euros (approximately equal to Rs 32 lakh). It will be available in two trims: a Single Motor Extended Range variant and a Twin Motor Performance model. Here's everything you need to know about the smallest SUV from Volvo, which will first go on sale exclusively in Europe.

Volvo EX30: Powertrain
The Volvo EX30 will be based on Geely's SEA platform. It will have two different battery packs. The basic variant is the Single Motor, which has a power output of 268bhp. It includes a 51kWh battery that lets the SUV reach 344 kilometre on a single charge. This battery is built of lithium-ferrophosphate (LFP), which has no cobalt and is less expensive than conventional EV batteries. The Single Motor Extended Range variant, on the other hand, has the same motor but a larger 69kWh battery. It claims to deliver a driving range of up to 480 kilometre. The top-of-the-line Twin Motor Performance model has a dual electric motor and produces 422bhp. It can speed from 0 to 100km/h in 3.4 seconds, which according to the firm, is faster than any Volvo ever. It asserts a range of 460 kilometre on a single charge.
Volvo EX30: Design & Dimensions
Appearance-wise, the EX30 is a quintessential Volvo with similar design characteristics. The front has a closed grille and the Volvo emblem. The LED headlights are shaped like Thor's hammer, while the taillights wrap over the tailboard and portion of the C-pillar. Dimensionally, the all-electric SUV is 4,233mm long. It will be available in 18-20-inch wheels.
Inside, the car has a classic Volvo design. It gets a 12.3-inch vertically placed touchscreen. Volvo's Google-based technology powers the infotainment system. Further, this system supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Instead of standard door speakers, a home audio-style soundbar spans the entire width of the dashboard. Aside from this, the SUV has a centrally situated dashboard glovebox-style multi-function centre console in the front and a removable storage box behind it.
Volvo EX30: Features
According to Volvo, the electric SUV will be the first Volvo model to use the next-generation Park Assist Pilot feature. This function claims to be capable of handling all forms of parking spots, including parallel, curved, perpendicular, and diagonal fishbone-style spaces. It will also include a particular safety feature that offers an alert when you are about to open the doors and a cyclist or pedestrian passes by.
