Volvo India has revealed the C40 Recharge EV for the Indian market. The carmaker currently offers the XC40 Recharge electric car in our market at an introductory price of Rs 56.90 lakh (ex-showroom). After long anticipation, the automaker has pulled covers from its second EV for India, which will likely boost its market share in our electric four-wheeler luxury segment. Features-wise, the C40 Recharge is equipped with a 13-speaker sound system from Harman Kardon, a fully digital instrument cluster, a wireless charger, a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment device that is vertically stacked, cruise control, ADAS technology, and more. On the design front, the newly introduced EV shares a resemblance with its sibling: the XC40 Recharge. Volvo C40 Recharge EV: Battery & Range
The C40 Recharge EV gets the same 78kWh battery pack as the XC40 Recharge. But, it has a little long WLTP-claimed driving range of 530 kilometre on a single charge because of the more aerodynamic design. It also includes the dual-motor AWD system, capable of generating 402bhp and 660Nm. The new EV can go from a standstill to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, and attain a top speed of 180km/h. The battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in 27 minutes using the 150kW fast charger.
Volvo C40 Recharge EV: Dimensions & Safety Features
In terms of dimensions, the new EV is 4,440 mm in length, 1,910mm in width, and 1,591mm in height. It rides on 19-inch aero wheels. Talking of safety, the all-new C40 Recharge has ABS with EBD, a 360° parking view, a blind spot information system (BLIS), lane-keeping assist, emergency braking, hill start assist, and more.
Volvo C40 Recharge EV: Exterior & Interior
Design-wise, the EV by Volvo India is almost similar to its sibling: the XC40 Recharge. However, the difference is visible in a roofline that slopes downward in a coupe-like manner. The C40 Recharge has vertically oriented LED taillights, Volvo's trademark Thor's Hammer LED daytime running lights, and a closed-off panel in place of the standard radiator grille.
On the inside, recycled carpets and vegan leather-free upholstery are available for the Volvo C40 Recharge EV. It also gets a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment powered by Google. Other notable interior features of the EV comprise a 12-inch completely digital driver display, dual-zone climate control, a 13-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, an air purifier, and more.

Volvo C40 Recharge EV: Price & Market Availability
Prices for the EV haven't been announced. But, the carmaker claims to disclose them in August, followed by commencing customer deliveries in September. Bookings for the electric car will also open during the price announcement. According to the firm, interested customers will be able to book the EV online using the Volvo app. Further, the dealer network will help with deliveries.
