Volkswagen India has announced significant benefits and discounts on the purchase of its models. The benefits include cash discounts, exchange bonuses, and corporate offers, and shall remain valid till April 30. Volkswagen's flagship SUV in India, the Tiguan, is available with a cash benefit of up to Rs 75,000, exchange benefits of up to Rs 75,000, corporate benefits of up to Rs 1,00,000, and 4-year SVP benefits of up to Rs 90,000, totalling Rs 3.40 lakh. Under the hood, the Volkswagen Tiguan gets a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which comes with a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The Tiguan makes 187bhp at 4,200 to 6,000rpm and 320Nm of peak torque between 1,500 and 4,100rpm. The car's ARAI-certified fuel efficiency stands at 13.54km/l. Volkswagen Virtus: Discounts and Benefits
Meanwhile, the benefits for the Virtus sedan stand at Rs 80,000, consisting of a cash discount of up to Rs 30,000, exchange benefits of up to Rs 30,000, and loyalty benefits of up to Rs 20,000. The Volkswagen Virtus sits on the India-specific MQB-AO-IN platform that also underpins the Taigun. This means that the Virtus gets the same powertrain options as the Taigun. Transmission duties are carried out by a 6-speed manual (1.0 TSI), a 6-speed torque converter AT (1.0 TSI), or a 7-speed DSG (1.5 TSI), depending on the engine selected. In the segment, the Virtus rivals the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, Skoda Slavia, and Honda City.

The Volkswagen Taigun is equipped with the same TSI turbo-petrol engine options as the Skoda Kushaq – a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol and a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol. The former belts out 115bhp and 175Nm of torque, while the latter produces 148bhp and 250Nm of torque. Both motors come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard, while the automatic gearbox options include a 6-speed torque converter for the 1.0 TSI and a 7-speed dual-clutch for the 1.5 TSI.
