German automobile manufacturer Volkswagen has unveiled the special-edition Virtus GT Edge in a new paint scheme. Thus far, the Volkswagen Virtus GT Edge was available in a Deep Black Pearl colour, but now you have an all-new option to choose from, which is called Carbon Steel Matte Grey. Earlier, this Matte colour was exclusive to the Taigun SUV, with a price starting at Rs 17.99 lakh. Meanwhile, the Virtus GT Edge with a Deep Black Pearl paint scheme commands a starting price of Rs 17.09 lakh for the manual variant. Expect the new shade to be priced marginally higher than the Virtus GT Plus MT, which currently retails at Rs 16.89 lakh, although the manufacturer has not yet disclosed the pricing details. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom. Prospective buyers can make their reservation for the Virtus GT Edge Carbon Steel Matte Grey on the company's official website, with deliveries slated to begin in October this year.

At an ex-showroom price of Rs 16.89 lakh, the Volkswagen Virtus GT Plus slots below the GT Edge. In spite of the new colour addition, the Virtus GT Edge continues to get LED headlamps, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car tech, cruise control, a rearview camera, tyre pressure monitoring system, hill start assist, and ABS with EBD.

However, the Virtus GT Edge Carbon Steel Matte Grey does receive a few changes to the exterior and interior. In addition to the red brake callipers, the car bears red accents both on the inside as well as outside, bringing out its sporty character. Other bits include aluminium pedals, laser red ambient lighting, and leatherette upholstery with Wild Cherry Red stitching.
Volkswagen Virtus GT Edge: Powertrain
Based on the GT Plus, the Volkswagen Virtus GT Edge comes powered by the brand's 1.5-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine that cranks out 148bhp and 250Nm of peak torque. On offer are a 6-speed manual as well as a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Moreover, the engine also features active cylinder management technology for enhanced fuel efficiency. According to Volkswagen, the vehicle returns an 18.67km/l mileage for the DCT version.
Volkswagen Virtus GT Edge: Price
The price of the Volkswagen Virtus GT Edge begins at Rs 17.09 lakh, whereas the GT Plus manual is priced at Rs 16.89 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom.
