The Volkswagen Vento now has a new range-topping Highline Plus variant, featuring full LED headlamps, LED DRLs and a parking camera.

Volkswagen has introduced a new top-end trim to the Vento range in India. Billed as the Vento Highline Plus, the new variant gets full-LED headlamps, LED DRLs and a rear parking camera over the erstwhile range-topping Highline trim. The Vento Highline Plus variants start at Rs 10.84 lakh and go all the way up to Rs 13.42 lakh (prices are ex-showroom, Mumbai.)

The main highlight of the Vento Highline Plus is, of course, its full LED headlamp setup. Other than that, it’s mostly unchanged. On the mechanical front, too, there have been no changes to speak of. Which means, it will be available in a choice of three powertrain options – 1.5-litre diesel (manual/DSG), 1.2 TSI petrol (DSG) and a 1.6-litre petrol (manual).

Apart from that, the Highline Plus will come loaded with all the bells and whistles since it now sits at the top of the range. Among some of the key features, it gets automatic rain sensing wipers, rear air-conditioning vents, auto-dimming IRVM, cooled glove box, steering mounted controls, etc. On the safety front, the Highline Plus is equipped with dual-airbags and ABS.

Commenting on the launch of the Vento Highline Plus, Thierry Lespiaucq, Managing Director, Volkswagen Group India said, “The Vento has been an integral part of the Volkswagen portfolio in India and we are delighted to launch the Vento Highline Plus that personifies Volkswagen’s characteristic DNA with aesthetic design elements, superior technology and unmatched safety features. It is our constant endeavour to make the Vento a car of choice for young families and working professionals and the Highline plus is aimed at that direction, we are positive that customers will find resonance in the car.”

The Volkswagen Vento competes with the likes of the new Honda City - which is the only other car in its segment that also comes with full LED headlamps – Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna and Skoda Rapid.

The ex-showroom, Mumbai prices of the Volkswagen Vento Highline Plus variants are as follows,

Petrol
Highline Plus 1.6 MT - Rs 10.84 lakh
Highline Plus 1.2 TSI DSG AT - Rs 12.06 lakh

Diesel
