Volkswagen India is set to begin deliveries of the new Tiguan R-Line on April 23, marking the arrival of the sportier, top-spec variant of its premium SUV. Bookings are open for a token amount of Rs 25,000. The R-Line, priced at Rs 48.99 lakh (ex-showroom), brings a more dynamic design, featuring sportier bumpers, exclusive alloy wheels, and interior enhancements that reflect the performance-oriented character of the R-Line badge. Positioned above the standard Tiguan, this variant continues to be powered by the same 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine paired with a seven-speed DSG and 4MOTION all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. The Tiguan R-Line is aimed at buyers looking for a blend of practicality, comfort, and a more aggressive styling package. With deliveries set to begin soon, Volkswagen is looking to attract premium SUV buyers seeking a more performance-inspired offering.
Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line: Powertrain Options
The Tiguan R-Line is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Power is distributed to all four wheels via Volkswagen’s 4Motion all-wheel-drive system. While the engine remains the same as the previous Tiguan, it now delivers a higher output of 201bhp and 320Nm of torque – an improvement of 14bhp. The SUV offers an ARAI-claimed fuel efficiency of 12.58km/l.

This technology allows the SUV to adapt its ride and handling characteristics to suit different driving conditions, providing enhanced comfort and control.
Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line: Aggressive Styling
The latest iteration of the Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line brings a more sculpted and sport-focused design, highlighted by a bold blacked-out aesthetic. This variant sports a full-width illuminated grille and sleek LED DRLs at the front, giving it a modern and connected look. A reworked front bumper with darker detailing adds to its assertive character, while subtle ‘R’ logos on the doors reinforce its sporty identity.

Buyers can choose from six colour options: Oryx White Mother Of Pearl Effect, Oyster Silver Metallic, Persimmon Red Metallic, Cipressiono Green Metallic, Nightshade Blue Metallic, and Grenadilla Black Metallic.
