A new touchscreen infotainment system, rain sensing wipers and electro chromatic IRVM will feature in top-end variants of the 2016 Volkswagen Polo and Vento
In the build up towards the 2016 Auto Expo in Greater Noida, Volkswagen has launched 2016 model year editions of the Vento mid-size sedan and Polo premium hatchback. The updated versions are only subject to top end versions of both these cars, the Vento gets a new Highline Plus trim. In this spec, both the Polo and Vento have been fitted with a new touch screen infotainment screens featuring mirror link connectivity, phone book and SMS viewer. The new top-end variants also get rain sensing wipers and an automatically dimming interior rear view mirror.
On this occasion, Michael Mayer, Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India said, “Vento and Polo have been among our best-selling carlines since their inception in the Indian market, and I am delighted to announce the introduction of these additional features. Providing a further boost to safety, the rain sensor and auto-dimming IRVM features allows the occupant to drive with ease and convenience. We are optimistic of continuing to raise the bar through our brand new offerings, and further expand the growing Volkswagen family in India.”It's no surprise for VW to add additional equipment to these cars as many of their rivals in their respective segments already feature such equipment, this move has brought the Polo and Vento closer to the competition on grounds of equipment.
The Volkswagen Vento Highline Plus petrol is priced at Rs. 9.70 lakh while the diesel Highline Plus retails at Rs. 10.95 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. Prices for the Vento retail between Rs. 7.87 lakh to Rs. 11.87 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi while the Polo is priced between Rs. 5.33 lakh to Rs. 8.58 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.
