The beloved 1.0-litre TSI engine is now on offer with a more affordable sticker price. Volkswagen India now offers the peppy three-pot TSI motor with the Comfortline variant of the Polo.
Volkswagen India has launched a more affordable variant of the Polo TSI. The Polo TSI is now available in the Comfortline variant, which is priced at Rs 7.41 lakh (ex-showroom) for non-metallic colours. The metallic colour options start at Rs 7.51 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Comfortline variant of the Polo now gets two engine options to choose from. Both engines on offer are a 1.0-litre three-cylinder unit – one is an MPI, while the other is the aforementioned TSI.
The feature list continues to be the same as that of the Polo MPI Comfortline but with a more powerful engine. The 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit makes 108bhp between 5,000 and 5,500rpm. The optimum torque output of 175Nm is offered between 1,750 and 4,000rpm. The engine comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission, and the Comfortline variant misses out on an automatic transmission.
The exterior of the Comfortline variant misses out on blacked-out mirrors and a spoiler. The leather-wrapped steering wheel and gearshift knob are missing in the Comfortline variant – it gets a standard fabric material for the steering cover. A 12v charging point for passengers at the back has been given a miss as well, but it's available in the higher Highline trim. A touch screen infotainment system has been reserved for the higher variant only. The Comfortline variant gets a 2-din music system that does not offer Apple Carplay and Android Auto. However, Bluetooth connectivity is on offer for streaming music.
