Both cars come with a BS6 compliant 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol motor that develops 108bhp and 175Nm and comes paired with a 6-speed manual. The Polo TSI Edition has been priced at Rs 7.89 lakh, while the Vento TSI Edition demands Rs 10.99 lakh.
Just two months since the launch of the BS6 Polo and Vento, Volkswagen has now introduced limited-edition TSI variants. With this launch, Volkswagen has made the turbocharged and more powerful variants of the Polo and Vento more accessible than before. The hatchback has been priced at Rs 7.89 lakh, making it Rs 13,000 cheaper than the Highline Plus trim. Meanwhile, at Rs 10.99 lakh, the sedan is cheaper than the Highline Plus trim by Rs 1 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).
Both cars are powered by the same 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol motor that develops 108bhp and 175Nm. The transmission too is the same 6-speed manual as that of the top-of-the-line Highline Plus variants. Volkswagen claims that the Polo TSI offers an efficiency of 18.24 km/l and the Vento of 17.69km/l.
On the design front, these limited-edition trims of the Polo TSI and Vento TSI look identical to the top-of-the-line Highline Plus variants. The only noticeable change is the graphics and massive TSI badge on the doors.
Speaking on the occasion, Steffen Knapp, Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India, said, 'At Volkswagen, we aim to democratize our globally renowned TSI technology and showcase the marvel of German engineering in petrol engines that bring reliability and a bespoke driving experience to customers. Through regular product and aesthetic enhancements, we are continuously working towards building an interesting and appealing value proposition to cater to the evolving tastes of our customers.'
Volkswagen has commenced bookings of both these cars online and will start deliveries soon after the lockdown restrictions end.
