Changes to these special edition models include new graphics on the doors, contrast coloured roof and ORVMs, and exclusive badging on the front fender. Based on the Highline automatic variants, both cars do not get a price hike for the special edition variants
In a bid to capitalise on the upcoming festive season, Volkswagen has introduced special edition versions of the Polo and the Vento. The Polo and Vento Red and White have been launched at Rs 9.19 lakh and Rs 11.49 lakh respectively. These prices are identical to that of the Highline automatic trims of the respective models.
Speaking about the launch, Steffen Knapp, Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India said, ““We are delighted to introduce our special Red & White edition on the Polo and Vento under our annual festive campaign ‘Volksfest 2020’. The initiative is in line with our commitment to continuously engage with the customers through our unique and enhanced feature offerings. The Polo and Vento continue to be strong contenders within their segments, the added dash of style will make an attractive value proposition for our customers.”
Changes to the Polo and Vento Red and White Editions are primarily cosmetic. Both cars get exclusive graphics along the sides and a special edition badges on the front fenders. The cars also get contrast roof and ORVMs. As the name rightly suggests, both cars are on sale in just two colour options – Sunset Red and Candy White.
Aside from these cosmetic touches, both cars get no other changes to the design and features. Features list includes 16-inch alloy wheels, cornering lights, leather wrapped steering wheel and gear lever, anti-pinch front and rear windows, auto-dimming IRVM, rain sensing wipers, and more. The touchscreen infotainment on both cars comes with voice command and is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
At the heart, the Polo and the Vento Red and White Editions continue to sport the 1.0-litre turbo petrol motor that makes 108.5bhp and 175Nm. This trim only comes with a 6-speed torque converter transmission – the 6-speed manual is not offered in these special edition versions.
