Volkswagen’s new Express Service model caters to periodic maintenance of cars to boost service efficiency and reduce vehicle downtime
Volkswagen India is looking to ease availability of service facilities for its customers by launching a new concept of Express Service. VW India’s first Express Service facility has been inaugurated in the company’s Coimbatore dealership. Volkswagen Coimbatore is already a large sales and service facility for VW cars in the region. The facility houses 44 work bays and 75 parking bays for cars that come in for service. The express service initiative will ensure servicing of over 2,500 cars per month at the facility.
The new Express Service programme is strictly restricted to periodic maintenance of cars and does not cater to repair work. This quick service model is aimed at increasing efficiency and productivity of technicians while also reducing the downtime for vehicles.
Speaking about the company’s new Express Service model, Michael Mayer, Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, said, “Volkswagen’s Express service program has been developed keeping in mind that sustainable success for the company is only possible with excellent service and a high degree of customer satisfaction; and here at Volkswagen, we want to lead the industry in this area. With the introduction of this program we will provide a hassle-free service experience at our dealerships by ensuring quality service in a short span of time. In the next 12 months, the Express service facility will be launched across key Volkswagen dealerships in India in a phased manner starting from Coimbatore and followed by Gurgaon and Chennai.”
In the next one year Volkswagen India aims to incorporate the express service facility across key Volkswagen dealerships across the country. Service costs for the express service programme is identical to regular service costs.
