This new 3S dealership has 10 car display area and 14 service bays
As part of its expansion plan for 2016, Volkswagen has inaugurated a new dealership in Malappuram, Kerala. Located on the Palakkad Highway, this is a 3S facility (Sales, Service and Spares) with a display area large enough for 10 cars and a 14 bay service area.
Speaking about the brand’s expansion plans, Michael Mayer, Director, VW Passenger Cars India said, “Network expansion is a crucial part of Volkswagen strategy which helps us penetrate deeper into the market. With this new facility in Kerala we will provide a world-class brand experience to our valuable customers keeping in-line with Volkswagen global standards.”
In the last few months, the German car maker has established a new dealership in Agra and Navi Mumbai, and strengthened its service network in Kolkata with the inauguration of two new service facilities. Aside from dealerships and service centres, Volkswagen recently established IT services in Hinjewadi, Pune, to support VW brands across countries. The Wolfsburg-based car maker invested € 3 million (Rs 22.5 crore approx.) in establishing Volkswagen IT Services India Private Limited.
Following the diesel emission scandal, the Volkswagen Group has initiated its first recall of the previous generation Skoda Superb. This comes as a part of a long process which will see all brands under the VW Group issuing a recall soon. Meanwhile, VW has also been working on updating its diesel engine, which is also the reason why the Ameo has only been launched in a petrol avatar yet.
