Volkswagen Golf GTI, Tiguan R-Line India Launch Confirmed
Volkswagen India to launch two new models in 2025, the sporty Golf GTI and the all-new Tiguan SUV, bringing performance and style to Indian roads.

Volkswagen is set to bring excitement back to India with a fresh lineup of sporty models. This year, the Tiguan R Line and Golf GTI will add a performance-driven edge to the brand’s offerings. Alongside these launches, Volkswagen is preparing updated versions of the Virtus and Taigun, set for release in 2025. After a quiet period, the German automaker is making a strong comeback, focusing on innovation and driving excitement in the Indian market.

Volkswagen Golf GTI:
Volkswagen is bringing the iconic Golf GTI to India, with an expected launch by August 2025. This hot hatch will feature a powerful 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine producing 260bhp. Designed for enthusiasts, it will likely come with 18-inch Richmond diamond-cut alloy wheels, aggressive bumper designs, and GTI-exclusive tartan seat upholstery.
The Golf GTI’s sporty appeal extends to its driver-focused interior, featuring a GTI steering wheel for better control. With its bold design and powerful engine, this hatchback marks Volkswagen’s return to the Indian performance car market.
Volkswagen Tiguan R Line:
Volkswagen is also set to launch the Tiguan R Line in India by April 2025. This sporty SUV, an upgraded version of the 2021 Tiguan, will bring a bold new look and powerful performance.
The R Line will feature larger air intakes and a redesigned front bumper, enhancing its aggressive styling.
While it retains key elements from the global second-generation Tiguan, this version is built for those who seek a sportier presence on the road. Powering the Tiguan R Line is a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, delivering 186bhp and 320Nm of torque.
