Vinfast VF7 Electric SUV Teased Ahead of Bharat Mobility Expo Debut on January 17

Vinfast is gearing up to unveil its highly anticipated VF7 electric SUV at the Bharat Mobility Expo, set to take place between January 17 to January 22, 2025. The Vietnamese automaker has teased the vehicle ahead of its debut, building excitement around its entry into the Indian electric vehicle market. The VF7 is expected to bring a blend of modern design, advanced technology, and impressive performance, positioning itself as a serious contender in the growing electric SUV segment. With its cutting-edge features and competitive specifications, including a strong battery range and spacious interior, the Vinfast VF7 is poised to compete with popular models such as the Mercedes-Benz EQA, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, BMW iX1, and BYD Sealion 7. The launch at the Bharat Mobility Expo will mark a significant step for Vinfast in expanding its global presence.

As far as design is concerned, the Vinfast will sport elements like split LED headlamps, wraparound LED taillights, a shark-fin antenna, a roof spoiler, full-width LED lightbar, flush-fitting door handles, and two wheel size options: 19-inch (Eco variant) and 20-inch (Plus variant).

Vinfast VF7 Electric SUV: Battery and Range

The electric SUV will be available in two versions: Eco and Plus. The Eco version will be geared towards greater efficiency, while the Plus version will deliver more power. Both variants will feature a 75.3kWh battery. The Eco version will be equipped with a single motor producing 201bhp and 310Nm of torque, providing a range of 450km, and will come only in a front-wheel-drive (FWD).

Meanwhile, the Plus version will have a dual-motor setup delivering 348bhp of maximum power and 500Nm of peak torque, with a driving range of 431km, and will offer the option of all-wheel drive (AWD).

Vinfast VF7 Electric SUV: Feature Suite

The VF7 will feature a dual-tone interior design, blending brown and black elements. It will accommodate five passengers, with the Eco variant offering a 12.9-inch infotainment screen and the Plus variant equipped with a larger 15-inch display. Both trims will come with over-the-air updates, a panoramic sunroof, and a head-up display.

Moreover, the electric SUV will have Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), comprising functions such as highway assist, emergency lane-keeping, adaptive cruise control, and lane centering assist. For enhanced safety, the vehicle is expected to offer a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), ABS with EBD, multiple airbags, reverse parking sensors, a seatbelt reminder, and a speed alert system. The car is expected to be priced at around Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom). 

Vinfast: An Overview

Vinfast is a Vietnamese automaker founded in 2017 as part of the Vingroup conglomerate. Initially focused on manufacturing traditional vehicles, the company shifted its focus to electric vehicles (EVs) in recent years. Vinfast aims to become a major player in the global EV market, offering a range of electric cars, including SUVs and compact models.
