VinFast, a Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, will enter the Indian market at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo. The company plans to unveil its first India-specific EV at the event. VinFast will build a factory near Chennai to support its entry, highlighting its long-term focus on India’s fast-growing EV sector. The expo will showcase a range of VinFast EVs, including the VF e34 and VF7 SUVs, alongside the India-specific model. These vehicles highlight the brand’s efforts to provide versatile electric mobility options for Indian buyers. Recent road tests of VinFast models in India have sparked interest, offering a preview of their design and features. VinFast is expected to announce its India expansion plans, covering sales strategies and showroom locations. This move will make VinFast the second dedicated EV manufacturer in India, following BYD. The Indian EV market is growing rapidly, with leading brands like Maruti Suzuki, Honda, Mahindra, and Tata investing in electric mobility.

VinFast plans to introduce the VF e34, a compact electric SUV, as its first model in India. Already available globally, the VF e34 is set to compete with upcoming models like the Maruti Suzuki eVitara and Hyundai Creta EV. The VF e34 features a 41.9 kWh battery with an NEDC range of up to 318 km. It supports fast charging, reaching 10-70% in 27 minutes. A 110 kW motor powers the SUV, delivering a top speed of 130 km/h.
VinFast's entry into India is expected to boost competition and offer more EV options, contributing to the adoption of sustainable transportation.
Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025
The Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 is a significant event in the mobility industry, scheduled from January 17 to 22, 2025. It will happen across three major venues in the Delhi NCR region: Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, Yashobhoomi in Dwarka, and the India Expo Centre & Mart in Greater Noida.
This event will showcase various vehicles, including electric, hybrid, CNG, and biofuel-powered models. Both domestic and international companies will participate, highlighting the latest advancements in sustainable and innovative mobility.
The expo will cover the entire mobility ecosystem. Visitors can explore automobiles, e-mobility solutions, batteries, micro-mobility options, and air mobility technologies.
