Toyota has launched an updated version of the Yaris featuring cosmetic enhancements and new (O) variants. Prices range between Rs. 8.65 lakh to Rs. 14.07 lakh, ex-showroom India.
The Toyota Yaris is one of the most sorted products in the mid-size sedan segment. But sales never really took off for the sedan in a market where customers prioritise stand-out features and over sheen. Toyota has now decided to address this issue in part by launching an updated version of the Yaris featuring dual tone exterior colour themes and new Option variants to further widen the variant portfolio of its mid-size sedan. New features aboard the updated Yaris include gloss black finish for the grille and ORVM casings, leatherette seat upholstery, leather wrapped gear lever and steering wheel, a centre console storage box and dual tone alloy wheels. The dual tone versions of the Yaris are available from the J (O) variant onwards which also feature two-tone alloy wheels. Prices for the V (O) manual start at Rs. 11.97 lakh (ex-showroom India) while the V (O) automatic retails at Rs. 13.17 lakh (ex-showroom India). Mechanically, the Yaris remains the same as earlier and it continues to be offered with a sole 1.5-litre petrol engine with the choice of manual and CVT automatic transmission options.
Speaking on the launch of the updated Yaris, N. Raja, Deputy Managing Director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, “We are happy that our Yaris customers have highly appreciated the value propositions the world -class sedan offers. Toyota Yaris is the first car to offer 7speed CVT option under 10 lakhs in the segment backed by Toyota’s legendary sales and service experience along with the benefits of our value added services (Extended Warranty, Finance, Insurance, Q Service, EM 60, Toyota Edge). We are delighted to offer ‘The Happenin’ New Yaris’ that is completely in-line with the feedback we have received and customer expectations; to own a sedan which is ‘value for money’ without compromising on the style, safety and comfort. The new Yaris is built on the Toyota philosophy of QDR offering options of 3 or 7 airbags for customers to choose from based on individual needs and preferences, while retaining their aspirations for more advanced features, safety, space, luxury, style and comfort. The low cost of ownership, low NVH levels, better rear comfort with Toyota’s unique sales and service efficiency makes the ownership experience of the new improved Yaris more desirable.”
