The much-awaited subcompact SUV from Skoda now has a name – 'the Kylaq' – which is derived from the Sanskrit word for crystal. As previously reported, the carmaker conducted a 'Name Your Skoda' campaign to invite name suggestions from the public. It required that the name may only have two syllables and begin and conclude with the letters 'K' and 'Q', respectively. With over a lakh entries and thousands of different names, the company shortlisted ten monikers, including Kariq, Kylaq, Kliq, Kyroq, and Kwiq. Among these, the name 'Kylaq' finally emerged as the winner.
